The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay serves more than 7,200 students on its primary campus. The university supports men’s and women’s soccer programs as a member of NCAA Division I athletics. With the continued growth of the two programs, plans for a new, high-quality soccer stadium were put into place in 2016.
The $4.9-million Aldo Santaga Stadium at the Kress Family Outdoor Recreation Complex held its grand opening on August 24, 2018, when the Phoenix men’s soccer team played host to the University of Hartford. The new facility has a grandstand, concessions and restroom building, a state-of-the-art press box, all-weather turf, a scoreboard and a new lighting system. It also is NCAA compliant, allowing the university to accommodate championship games.
Mavid Construction played a role in this community-funded project. The company handled the glass & glazing work, along with the doors & hardware.
Glass & Glazing work included the large windows of the press box used by media, team coaches and game administrators. Glass installation also took place as part of the concessions structure.
Doors & Hardware work was completed on both the press box and concessions/restroom building.
