The 2018 Chemistry-Biology Building project at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point opened in September 2018.
Mavid Construction installed the flooring throughout the entire facility during the project, overseen by the general contractor, Miron Construction. Flooring installed included ceramic tile, luxury vinyl tile, and carpet tile in the different learning and educational spaces depending on the desired aesthetic and use.
The project encompassed the building of a brand new, state-of-the-art facility at 176,000 square feet. The building features 58 research and teaching laboratories, two lecture halls, seven classrooms, a green roof, a tropical conservatory, and a cafe. The $75.1 million project is the first major free-standing academic building constructed at UW-SP in 40 years.
